Our story

Space Heard Us began in 2022 as a small ensemble of three musicians, with and without disabilities, coming together to share their love of music.

As they performed in the community, more children who shared a passion for music gathered, creating a space where differences were set aside and connection was built through music. Through performances across the local community, they have brought comfort, inspiration, and healing to many.

What began with just three children grew into something much greater. As parents witnessed their children’s growth and the power of inclusion, families came together with a shared hope—that their children could live, belong, and thrive within the community.

In 2026, these families officially established Space Heard Us as a nonprofit organization to continue and expand this mission.

This journey has not been one that individuals could walk alone. It has been made possible through the support of both individuals with and without disabilities, creating meaningful opportunities to connect, understand one another, and grow together as one community.
