Musicians with and without disabilities come together as one ensemble through a shared love of music. Each musician brings different abilities and ways of expressing themselves, but through music, we learn to listen to one another and create something meaningful together.

Space Heard Us is not a formal music education program, but every rehearsal is an opportunity to learn and grow. As musicians practice and prepare for performances together, they develop focus, patience, consideration, understanding, and the ability to work together toward a shared goal.

Not every musician needs to participate in the same way. We respect each musician’s strengths, abilities, and individual way of participating, creating opportunities for everyone to contribute meaningfully and express themselves through music.

Through rehearsals and performances, musicians build relationships and learn to see one another not through the labels of disability or ability, but as fellow musicians. By listening, waiting, encouraging, and supporting one another, we create a genuine sense of connection and belonging.

Our music extends beyond the rehearsal room. Through performances and community events, we share music with others and celebrate what can happen when people of different abilities create together. Through each performance, we hope to share a message of inclusion, possibility, and belonging with the wider community.
